Default Strange Lump

I have an Opaline Gourami that I have had in quarantine since I purchased it last week. This morning, I noticed a lump, that looks like it swallowed a pea, right behind the gill, and close to its bottom. It protrudes on one side only. Is it possible it gorged itself on the blood worms I put in yesterday, is it a tumor, some worm infestation that is about to rupture? I did put some flakes in there this morning, and he ate some, and is swimming around. Any ideas?

Well, I think we can rule out tumor right away, since it appeared in only one day.
It could still be an accumulation of fluid, though, due to a ruptured blood vessel or something.
As for a cyst or a bunch of worms, again, it happened too fast to be either of those.
It might even be an infection of some sort.
if the fish is still eating well and behaving normally, don't do anything just yet. It's a good thing you still have it in quarantine.
