Default Super fast cycle

I just finished cycling my tank in exactly 7 days. It was my 55 gallon. Has anyone else ever had it happen this fast, I couldn't believe it.

If you seed it with bacteria from an established tank, then yes.

Wondering the same thing shev. Is it planted? was the filter running on another tank?

i cycled my 40 gallon in about 1.5 weeks. but, i used the filter on it from it being an existing tank. I removed everything - thouroghly cleaned, added new rocks, scrubbed the plants and other decor and then refilled. Didn't clean the wheel of the filter and I did add Cycle product. 1 week into it I added 4 new fish and had a .25 ppm jump but after a few days that came back down.

Without the details of how a one week cycle was accomplished I would have to be doubtful the tank is cycled.

That said, I routinely set up and stock a new fully cycled tank in an hour or two by stealing cycled media and decor from other tanks and also planting it well.
