ok quick question do Black knife ghost fish jump alot? I know someone who's missing a BKGF and thinks it just died and its body's in its cave. I hasn't come out from 3-4 days. It's the only BKGF in the tank and its in with tetras and discus so i don't think it's being bulled. The tank size is 55 gallons and i don't know anything about the water.

I doubt it, they dont really have the body plan for jumping, more of just being agile. jumpers often use the "S" motion of their body to bail out, fw barracuda come to mind how they fold up into an s and spring forward. while BGK have a long fin thats like a rudder on the underside to move around.
but It could of jumped out, they also like to hide though. I'd definately check around the tank and inside the tank for a rotting corpse. |

a black ghost knife would never be able to jump...these fish are very slow moving and nearly blind. They're not quite fast or energetic enough to bolt out of a tank.

Mines pretty speedy, I wouldnt put it past them, better to be on the safe side anyway.
