Provided that the tank was large enough yes. These are both huge fish and require vast swimming spaces to thrive. If kept together, a minimum of 125gals, and thats just for the 2 with maybe a cat or 2 tossed in for cleanup.

They live in the same environement in the wild in South America, oscars will get territorial though if the tank hasn't sufficient space.

If you have a big enough tank with enough hiding places, pH of around 7, you can keep virtually any fish together as long as all the fish are around the same size and these two groups of fish are avioded: Serrasalmus Tetradon(figure eights and dwarfs are the exception). I keep a successful community of fish in a 4 foot tank including the following families: Cichlids, tetras, loaches, gouramis, barbs, rainbows, livebearers, killiefish, catfish, puffers. |

this is awesome. I honestly didnt think they would go well together but now that I know they do, I might hafta look in to getter a new tank.
