Default Strange green barb behaviour

the last couple of days one of my green barbs has been acting oddly . at first i thought maybe something was wrong with him but it seems to be done volountarily

he is bobbing in the water with his head toward the bottom of the tank in place occasionaly moving

now i thought it may be a swim baldder problem until i noticed at some points he will just start swimming around normally again with therest of the barbs then 20-30 mins later go back to the strange behaviour ... he eats fine when i feed him and he otherwise shows no signs of a problem swimming or scaraping or rubbing of any sort .. there are no marks on the body that i can see ..

any ideas ??

Its a common behavior with barbs. Nothing to worry about. Some think it has to do with mating but noone knows for sure.

When I had my barbs in my 55g they would do that alot around the themometer and the cord to the heater.
