Unhappy A thought of guilt.

I had a comet goldfish that i found floating upside down inside the tank i observed him for a while and pronounced him dead upon looking. I took him out and bared him with all the other fish that die with me very sad to think about it. SO i bary him and go outside to get my soda and the cat had already dug it up and had it in its mouth. i went at the cat and it stayed still i looked at the fish and it was moving but the cat was staying still. then the cat ran away. NOw from that day on I have a VERY VERY VERY guilty concience about takign the fish out and buring it before it actually died. Somewere i know it was past on before since it did not move at all and i mean at all. but yet im still haunted. but since then non of my fish have died besides the gold fish that my oscar ate that i meanteoned in another thread. But non died to were i have to burry......but now i have a nice little eletric fence around all my ponds and my fishy grave.

I shot the cat with my bb gun rubber bbs. It made me feel a little better.

I bet the cat didn't like it. He was only doing what comes naturally to a cat.

I thought of it that way but then the fish poped into my head. I FEED THE CAT ANYWAYS. I felt bad and gave it food. besides its funny... when it touches the eletric fence.

Umm....cat hitting electric fence does not equal a substitute for you burying your fish alive. I'm sorry you had that happen, but hurting one animal because of your inaccurate pronouncement of death on a fish is not ok.

I'm sure people misdiagnose death often with fish...they can appear dead and not be. If you want a clear conscience next time, put the fish in the freezer so you're sure it's dead...and if it's not, it won't suffer. It sounded like it was going to die anyway, but I have to say that your actions strike me as a bit cruel with regards to the cat.

You gotta be kidding me!

This is animal abuse, and you should be ashamed of yourself. You shot your cat with a pellet gun because it made you feel better. That's sick. What do you do when you have a really bad day??? Go play frog baseball? Do you even understand what you did??? You tortured an innocent animal because you screwed up!

You made a mistake with your fish, and that happens to us all. I'm sorry, because that's painful, but you took your grief out on another innocent animal, and that's what you should really be ashamed of.

Normally, I'm pretty understanding about people learning the proper way to keep pets, but you have lost any sympathy or understanding I might have had for you. You should give the cat away to someone else who will give it a good home. I fear for your fish, too.

This doesn't make it okay.

Act of animal cruelty should be justified with the equivalent action against the offender.

It would be wise to refrain from posting any type of these acts on any type of pet friendly forum. You want to keep that can of worms to yourself and only yourself.

-end rant. I feel better. I love all three of my cats. I love all of my guns. I'd never have these two subjects in the same thought.

Default Shame

Wow there is no excuse worthy of ever abusing ANY animal. I am so glad you aren't my neighbor, and you are as well, trust me!

seems like we're all just okay about somebody's elses cat desecrating (sp?) the grave of our fishy's then. Alrighty then. (hint: internet sarcasm)

ps. dont feel bad about the fish, it was probably the cat biting into the fish making him "seem" like he was moving.

.
That being said. I'm sure we have conveyed our sentiments on the subject. No sense in beating a dead horse. (sorry for the misappropriate pun). Lets not give this thread any more press than it needs. Better things to talk about. More pics to post and more ideas to share.

Good call, Simpte... Sorry if I was a bit overzealous, everybody. I was pretty upset when I read this thread.
