Default Good deal?

"Aquariums 40 gallon and 29 gallon, both are complete, both $70 or best offer. Call ###-####"

Can you guys tell if they mean 70 each, or 70 combined?

And even if it's for each, is 70 for a used 40g generally a good deal? I've been wanting a 29, I have a stand but no tank, but 70 seems too much for a used one, how much would you offer?

If it is both for $70, grab them. &0 wouldn't be a bad deal for the 40 gallon, but is probably a little much for the 29, though if it was equiped with all the stuff I like and wasn't going to have to change much, then I might spring for that one too. I paid $150 for my 55g complete, and the only thing I did was replace the pressboard stand with a real wood one, and just recently, after over a year, replaced the original striplight. I also bought a used 55g for $60, with nothing but a box of junk, but had it operational for a total of around $150(plus $175 for a real wood stand and canopy).

I payed $100 for my 55 gallon complete setup. Stand hood lights filter gravle decor even fish and food. Got it from the classifieds in the news paper. My finance teacher always told me don't buy distressed assets buy from distressed owners. The people were moving out of state and needed to get rid of the setup fast.

to me it sounds like $70 Each, but either way I think its a good deal, you get a complete setup, we bought a new 29gallon tank with hood for 70 bucks. i would also ask if the tank has been empty at all and if so for how long if you do decide to go with it.

If the 40's a "breeder" then it's a great deal. It's still a good deal for the 40 if it's a reg. I priced a 40br at a LFS and they quoted me 70 beans, tank only.

As far as the 29 gall for 70... meh... depends on what equipment comes with it.
