Default Going big (kind of)

Before now the biggest tank I've had is a 20G long. I have 2 of them as of now, and was just given a 60G (L-48" H-23.5" W-12.5"). I will be transferring the fish out of 20G into the 60G and I have a question about filtration. The 60G will end up having 2x 5" Black Moor goldfish, 7x 2" Zebra Danios, 1x 4" Common Pleco, 2x 1.5" Otocinclus, and 2x African Dwarf frogs.

I currently have a Fluval C3 (153GPH) and I was considering buying another and running both C3s in the 60G. Would that be enough filtration or should I consider a canister filter or possibly a sump? I will also have a 2 liter moving bed (fluidized) bio filter with K1. And I do not have a lot of money.

Thanks for any advice.

that is kind of a weird size tank....would be great for angels...
if i were you i would set up several large sponge filters along with the C3....you really need to exceed 600GPH because of the goldfish and the pleco..for a tank like that i would run a pair of aquaclear 110s....but then you don't have much money....big sponge filters would be cheapest..

if we ignore nature;maybe it will go away

10 gallon..nothing but air

10 gallon...just more air

10 gallon...stale air

I could see the goldfish eating the frogs and/or the otos eventually. I would leave those and the danio in a 20g and just move the goldfish and the pleco into the 60g.

It's an older tank. I haven't been able to find much information on it. But I agree. I spent the last year thinking it was a 55G. But it's water tight, and free so I can't complain.
So are you saying more mechanical, or biological? The tank has a UGF setup, but I don't really want to use it. And like I said, a 2 liter fluadized bed bio filter will be going in there with 1.5+ liters of Kaldnes K1.
And I was planning on using 2 Fluval C3 in it, not just 1. With inlet extensions.

They have all been in that 20G for the last 6 months and no has gotten eaten yet. Although the goldfish just started getting aggressive to each other lately during feeding time (2x a day for the goldfish, 1x a day for everyone else.)

goldfish can even eat danios if they can catch them. Its the 'mouth size rule' again. Well cared for goldfish will eventually get big enough to swallow small tropical fish.
