Test you test kit with a standard or have a LFS test your water. Before you do anything make sure this isn't an erroneous reading.
Assuming its real, and there are places with significant nitrate in the water supply usually from fertilizer runoff, are you willing to pre-treat water before it goes in the tank?
I think this would be a good application for an ion exchange resin such as Nitra-Zorb. It replaces NO3- with Cl- and when its depleted, you can recharge with a NaCl solution.
The "natural" but much more complicated solution would be to set a up refugium or just stuff the tank with live plants.
