I have been under going some renovations in the house and decided to change the way that my tank or rather the wall that my tank sits in looks. In order to make this new look a go I have to enclose the canister filters.
I was wondering if anyone had done so and if there are any ill effects to the filters by enclosing them. They will be behind removal doors to still have access but hey just wont be seen and as quiet as they are they can almost never ever be heard.
I am starting the plan B of the in-wall 100g long tomorrow, I will post pics once I get started and have the time.

I haven't done it, but if you can't see them you won't see a spill. I'd suggest a "floodr" alarm, either audible or remote, so you will notice before you water level has visibly dropped. I believe there is one that will send you a text message.
I think the main concern of enclosing anything is temp and humidity. But since most canisters are cooled by the tank water and those pumps have good seals, it should be fine.
a friend of mine has several tanks with canister filters....he keeps them in rubbermaid totes..
concealing them behind a wall can work quite well..but you may need to buy longer hoses...
Actually the way they are set up is the way they will be situated they are directly under the tank LOHA and all I ma doing is making a rock or brick kind of facing on the facade of the stand and th wall unit that I built for the tank. I am waiting on the plaster to dry before I start phase 2

I have some wood work to complete and should have some of the work started by or before the weekend and will try and post some pics when I can. My den was already tank themed and now will be even more so than ever after this.
