Ever since i first set up my tropical 20 gal tank july 29th of 2011, ive had some type of gourami, the first 2 were fire honey gouramis, i got a month after i set it up and one of them is still alive, around january of last year, i got a dwarf gourami. The dwarf and honey bth died the same way, but months apart. They gradually lost all their color over a period of a month or so and then eventually just died. Nothng else, they still ate and swam fine. Now it looks like the surviving honey gourami is loosing its color. Is this natural?

Do check the water. Clean water is good medicine. But there are several diseases that preferentially attack gouramis, not all of them treatable. I would suggest you not get any more for 6 months after the last one dies.
pH is about 7.5, nitrate is about 25, a few hours ago i checked the wood to see if it would still float and it did soo i kicked up like all the debri getting it to stay down if that makes a differece

had a gourami die recently, could not find no cause, no visual symptoms except sitting at the top and loss of colour, had read about a few types of disease that affects only gouramis and as emc7 not all are treatable
