Our black moor has a problem with one of its eyes. It has grown super huge. Anyone have experience with this? The fish has been this way for a while now. It's eye just keeps growing and growing.
Please don't ask about the water parameters. The tank has been up and running for 9 years and all others are doing just fine. The water is brown from drift wood.

Ok. Here is what has happened to this point. This took a lot of reading from every where.
Our fish is fine but has one less eye. I did allot of research on using clove oil to put the fish to sleep. It ended up being twenty drops per gallon to achieve this. The first try I put the fish to sleep and lanced the growth that had started coming out of the bottom of the enlarged eye. This reduced the pressure and brought comfort to the fish almost immediately. It was mostly filled with blood. The fishes eye started to go down with the help of Epsom salts and other medication. The effects of this lasted for quite some time.
Recently the fish started having this growth coming out on the bottom of its eye and it looked like it was getting worse than the time before. I came to the conclusion that it was time to try and remove the eye and clean out the wound. with great stress to me, I put the fish asleep again and removed the bad eye. Needless to say the fish looks allot happier than it did before. When I removed the eye all that was in there was a bunch of black fiberous goo. Probably old darkened blood. The whole eye was composed of this mass. It almost resembled a soft growth. This was a hard decision to come to but I figured if it didn't work I could put the fish down while it was asleep. There was not much blood except from what was in the pocket of blood at the bottom of the eye. It wasn't Popeye. I tried to many times medicating for popeye with no results. This is another example of how far a person would go to help out a pet.
One eyed fish.
