Dwarf gourami
Will 2 dwarf gouramis live together in a 36 gallon tank
Or
Will they kill each other?

Its a decent sized tank, with enough decoration and hiding places they should be fine. However, if you get 2 males (you can tell by their top fin) you'll be taking a gamble.

They will be absolutely fine. I kept 2 in an 8 gallon tank and they didn't try to kill each other.

have kept a number of gouramies over the years ; and always in groups of 5 or 6 unless it was for breeding...never had a problem with them beating on each other...

a couple of reasons for that.....since males are more colorful , they sell better....they are pretty easy to breed...if we get females and breed them it will cut into the asian market....
they do that with a lot of fish..

Weed if your looking for females, I've only seen 1 site that carries them, if your interested in ordering from them: http://www.aquariumfish.net/catalog_...ramis.htm#top2 They carry both the Flame Red and Neon Blue varieties for females.
