Kirrie, you are so lucky to have some dedicated, knowledgeable people at your local petco. Like you, I very limited choice in fish stores; as in, one petsmart, 70+ miles diistance. I was so happy when I met a young worker there 2wks ago who has fish and actually knows what he's talking about! So many of the big store workers are untrained, and don't know something, but talk with great self confidence and authority anyway. But thank goodness, there are some out there like "our" guys at petco/petsmart! I believe some of our FF members work at big stores, where they can be a great gift to their customers.

I realize how lucky I am because if the workers at my Petco weren't as trustworthy as they seem, I wouldn't have fish right now because I'm not old enough to drive too far away by myself and I don't think my parents want to drive me all over either. I've only been to Petsmart once but it was just to look at fish and that's where I found the pictus catfish that I want. So hopefully I can make a trip there this week when I get paid for babysitting. I'm excited to add these fish to my tank after my tetra heals and after my cory eggs are gone because they will most likely be the last addition to my tank besides some more live plants

Ahhh, I feel like we've scared you! Anyways, lot's of knowledgable people at petco and personally I prefer them to petsmart. Petco generally has people who know a lot about fish and I really shouldn't be bashing them because I'm hopefully getting a call tomorrow saying that I have a new job in the fish department there

I actually got my first Pictus Catfish from PetSmart last night. I was kind of worried because I went to look at them the day before and the girl who was there didn't seem to know anything about fish :/ But when I went back the next day, there was someone there who has her own fish so I was able to talk to her about buying the catfish. I just got one for now to make sure he's ok with my other fish. His name is Whiskers, because I'm so creative hahaha.

Haha ya in that case my fish wouldn't have names. My dad already thinks Im crazy for the amount of fish I do have. But for now, 1 of my 3 bronze corys has a name because he/she is smaller than the others. My friend Kennedy asked me to name it Kennedy jr. And my two peppered corys have names because one of them, Nemo (another example of my creativity) has a messed up tail fin. The other one is named Peppy. The biggest of my 3 snails is named Sheldon. And of course my betta is named Zeus, about the most creative I've been so far X)
