So as some of you know I had a leak in my 90 gallon tank... I was tearing it down to re-seal it (which by the way worked) and in the process I knocked one of my light fixtures into the water (just a cheap one that comes with most tanks) well it fried the ballast I am assuming... Can I get those at like a home depot or Lowe's or is it something that has to be special ordered thru a fish store and if so how much is it going to run me?
yep ; you can get ballasts almost anywhere...make sure you take the old one in to match it...
if it were me i would just go buy a 4 ft. shoplight and a couple of daylight bulbs...that's what i did for most of my lighting..
A ballast is fairly easy to replace-and not all that much$$, either. Just be sure to bring the old one with you when you go to the store, like loha said, because it is amazing how many different, but similar, ballasts are out there!

5 cardinal tetras
1 dwarf gourami
3 oto catfish
1 bristlenose pleco
1 crown tail betta
2 rasboras
1 cory cat
a few shrimp
hmmmmmm...get 2 1x4x6' and 1 1x6x6'...if you buy 8 footers you will have lots left over ...which is ok if you have other tanks...lol..
make a box...1x6 is the top ...1x4 front and back...1x6 ends..cut the ends so they hang down on each side of the tank so the canopy doesn't slide off....
paint or stain it so it looks nice...then mount the shoplight inside...
