They have for me, but I would get large tinfoil barbs and small oscars to start with so the oscars don't get any ideas...

I'd guess that discus are a bit to docile to be kept with the oscars... But I don't know much about discus, so you'll want to get another opinion on that.

tinfoil barbs i think are schooling fish. imo i wouldnt go with the oscar and discus either flyinggriff was right
