I need a 10 gallon tank to put some fish in tomorrow. I had called the lps and they told me they had biospira, at lunch I went to pick it up. They only had cycle and stability. Has any one every used either one of these I have only heard bad things about cycle.

With me I just seed my filter with medium from another one of my tanks, but IME biospira works just as well, apparently this product is the strongest of the range.

If you have a big enough tank with enough hiding places, pH of around 7, you can keep virtually any fish together as long as all the fish are around the same size and these two groups of fish are avioded: Serrasalmus Tetradon(figure eights and dwarfs are the exception). I keep a successful community of fish in a 4 foot tank including the following families: Cichlids, tetras, loaches, gouramis, barbs, rainbows, livebearers, killiefish, catfish, puffers. |

Stability is a good second-place contender. Cycle is junk.

Thanks for the information. I guess I will try the stability and old filter media.
