Mine think it's ok. They don't really like me discussing them, kind of sad, better then watching gorey TV. But whatever ya' know? My mom sometimes picks out fish, I buy them, then when I say I want a bigger tank, she says No. Sometimes they think it's cool.

We borrowed a tank from my husband's sister (who wasn't using it) to set up for our little daughter, who enjoyed looking at the fish in Granny's pond. My husband did most of the initial setup. But once we got the fish home I fell in love with them, and since have taken over the tank, even setting up a couple of new ones. My husband thought, we'll get a couple of goldfish to keep Ellen entertained, and we ended up with a planted tank with rosy barbs, zebra danios, hillstream loaches, and a snail, and a couple of other tanks with other assorted critters. My husband is amused that I've got so addicted to fish. Ellen still likes them, though, and likes to help me feed them.

I have 3 cats, and 2 were introduced last year. The 1st cat, Dover really didn't like the idea, and hasn't really been herself up until I set up my 125 and 20L. The 2 new sisters were curious for the first week, but only really show interest when I'm maintaining it, they like to play with the water in the buckets.
The 20L is in the cabinet under my entertainment center, and we open the doors whenever we're in my playroom, which is the only thing that makes Dover sociable while we're in the playroom. My girlfriend told me last night that in the beginning she was skeptical, especially when my play money started to dwindle. But now that she realized that it makes Dover happy, makes her that much more happy. She's in the process of deciding what tank she wants so she can get a puffer fish. I'm stoked that she feels the way she does, cause otherwise I'd miss her. |

When my family come round they show more interst than when I used to live with them. When I used to live with them they tried to throw me in with my piranhas at any oppertunity.LOL. I'm glad that they don't throw me in any more because I have alligator gars now.

for the most part, yes. My friends kind of joke with me about me having a small pet shop in my basement.

My dad does. We both love it. But my sisters think the fish smell and my mom only likes Bubbleio. My betta.

My family dont really care , my sister rolles her eyes anytime i mention fish, and my dad thinks i spend too much money on them. My mom on the other hand likes fish and took over my 10 gallon when i moved my goldies to the 15. Now she wants to build a bigger one so she can have more fish lol. And my little nephew loves the fish hes not quite 4 but i have to take him downstairs everytime he comes so he can see my goldies in my room. But the little bugger is always tryin to put things in the tank in the living room , last week he decided to feed them lol ... there went half the bottle of food and about and hour and half later i finally were able to put the fishies back in clean water. What a mess.

I feed most of my tankbusters other fish. I feed my gars barbs, lance fish, sometimes tuna. And I feed my snakehead prawns and tuna. I used to feed them sick live fish from my other tanks that had uncurable illnesses, the gars aren't prone to disease, but this is how my other snakehead died. But now I just feed them frozen fish shipped from Pakistan. Now that my gars are getting bigger, they sometimes ignore the smaller fish that I give them so now they sometimes get catfish, gouramis and knifefish.

Here are some old pics of when my gars were a bit smaller, about 15 inches. These pics were taken about 8 months ago so it gives you an idea of just how fast they grow. After this I will take some pics of my new snakehead, and some shots of a malawi peacock I bought two days ago, and also some up to date ones of my gars.
Here's a picture of my "alligator" gar cruising along the current. ![]() A shot of the same gar chumping on a chunk of tuna. ![]() This is a shot of my other gar who I've had for slightly longer, and is a "crocodile" gar. He's slightly larger and is more dangerous. This is also the one that has injured me on a number of occassions when gravel cleaning. ![]() This is a better picture of his jawline. ![]() Back to my other gar, he is just finishing of his tuna. ![]() I will post the pics of my snakehead and hap in the photo album.

The jury is still out on the Python until I try it out further, as you might assume, I had some troubles the first time out. I have determined that I can in fact, set it up on my kitchen faucet, so at least I shouldn't have a repeat flood. But I guess my first order of business is going to have to be resealing the shower, and replacing the insulation on the garage ceiling!
