Quick question:
Having had a quick look around it would seem that most of the discussion is on aquarium based fish - or am I mis-seeing what is right in front of my face? Anyway - the question. Is this the best place to ask questions about outdoor ponds or does the panel suggest a better forum for that? Tx.

Firstly welcome to fishforums.
Secondly yes, the goldfish forum is usually where people post about ponds.

If you have a big enough tank with enough hiding places, pH of around 7, you can keep virtually any fish together as long as all the fish are around the same size and these two groups of fish are avioded: Serrasalmus Tetradon(figure eights and dwarfs are the exception). I keep a successful community of fish in a 4 foot tank including the following families: Cichlids, tetras, loaches, gouramis, barbs, rainbows, livebearers, killiefish, catfish, puffers. |

Max. What's the climate like in Vietnam? If goldfish can't stand the heat then maybe you can keep tropicals all year round! That would be my dream, to keep tropical fish in my garden.

Hot... almost all year round. I have no heaters running and don't plan to have some. It's an ideal place for keeping tropical fish.
Ah btw, goldfish is No 1 fish here in Vietnam and I'm wondering how they can tolerate such high temp? Or they can blend to variety of temp?
