Exclamation Ok... Big Time Help

I just woke up this morning to find something in my tank, of which I keep baby Piranha, Swordtail*, a bala shark*, and a bunch of guppies, (*temporary). There are some very small guppy looking fish in there now. I think they're probably baby guppy cause they have the guppy shape.. but they look kinda big for being new born. Also, some of them are black!! Whats with that?

EDIT: They are def. Guppy cause nothing else could have gave birth, lol. But whats with the color? Some other ones are have black spots...

Shouldnt be a problem. just different colorations of guppies, the fry dont always look like the parents. and they shouldnt last long, th eother fish should eat them.

Yea, aside from the 1 I saved. They're all gone. Also, I read that female guppies have black rear abdomens when they are pregnant. However the majority of my guppies (aside from the more colorful ones, which I think are males) have black rears.. does that mean that they are all pregnant? These are feeder guppies, not fancy guppies.

The gravid spot is a dark spot that gets darker as the fish is pregnant, I think its right ahead of the anal fin. I have no idea whether your fish are pregnant, looking at my feeder guppies, over half also have it. most likely they are already pregnant.

Most guppies are pregnant their whole entire life. Your piranha prob is getting some fishy food and may soon aquire a bigger taste!

As in, actually pregnant for their whole entire life, or on and off for their entire life?

Most likely guppies unless the swordtail is female. If so she may have been the mom. Some female livebearers can have several spawns after a previous encounter with the male.

"Also, I read that female guppies have black rear abdomens when they are pregnant. However the majority of my guppies (aside from the more colorful ones, which I think are males) have black rears"

For sexing them, besides color, males have a fin under the belly which is pencil shaped, pointing toward the tail. Females have a fan (triangle) shaped fin there. Females tend to be bigger, and especially when pregnant, rounder.

And guppies eat their own young, so the free food thing is for everybody.
