Question Too many Black Sharks

I have a 30 gallon tank, given to me by my sister, I had to replace the power filter & light fixture. I cycled the tank & was ready to add fish. I went to Petco & talked to one of the people in auquatics. She sold me 2 black sharks. They seem to be fascinating fish, but after doing some research I found out that they did not care for their own kind. They are about 3 inches in length. I realize I need to find a new bigger home for them, but noone in my family wants an aquarium. My question is how fast do they grow, which will tell me how long I have to get another tank or two. I really wish the person at Petco had been properly trained. If she was she would have known not to sel me two of them. One is really shy & the other one chases him quite often. I also have a 55 gallon with 2 Bala sharks, 2 & 3 inches & 5 Red Eyed Tetras (all one inch), which I have planned to upgrade to 125 gallon.

Black Sharks SHOULD be kept by themselves, or in groups of 5 or more to keep from Domination problems, so the shy one is probably going to be killed !

Put one in the 55 gallon. He'd be a great addition to that tank.
