Talking Dwarf Cichlids

I am going to start my 50 gallon tank soon and I wanted some kinds of cichlids. I was leaning towards Dwarf Cichlids. I know I am already Getting some Rams but is there any other peaceful Dwarf Cichlids.

Thanks

There are several groups of dwarf cichlids. The South American dwarfs include the rams, the various Apistogrammas, and a few others. There are also a number of dwarf cichlids from the rivers of West Africa. These are a little larger and more aggresive than the South American types. They include the Pelvicachromis, Nannochromis, and one or two other genera. If you want to go in a different direction, there are also several groups of dwarfs from Lake Tanganyika, mainly including the Julidochromis species. They need hard, mineral-rich water and rockwork similar to a coral reef.
