Exclamation Daphnia and Tank Bubbles like a Bubble Bath!!!

Ok I got somewhat for a problem. I just got guppy fry and I was feeding them freeze dried daphnia. I thought that since it was in a very fine powder form, they fish would eat it. But the problem is that my filter with the water flow causes the water on the top to bubble and foam. Right now, the entire surface of water is like a bubble bath. This impedes me from being able to feed the fry. What should I do?

what type of filter do you have? can you adjust the water flow? You could just unplug or turn off the filter during feeding

Try as fishfreaks said. Try adjusting the nozzle on the filter or simply unplugging it for a little bit before feeding.

During the feeding, the food doesnt foam up. I make sure to take out the rest that the fry dont eat. But it is like 3 hours later that the water foams. I tried turning off the filter. Doesnt help

Clean water doesn't foam up like that. It takes a lot of grunge to create the surface tension required to make foam. I think you might be feeding too much and changing water too little.

Ditto. You read my mind (not an easy thing to do but by the most experienced master).

It takes A LOT of protein/deterius to foam up water and hard water takes even more. Deffinitely increase waterchanges.

Do you know how many water changes it should take for the water to cease foaming?
