Default Eco-Start???

How is Eco-Start? Is it anything remotely similar to Bio-Spira? I bought some from PetLand last night. The guy that works there says he uses it. Did I waste my money?

I also have a Chinese Algae Eater in a fish bowl with about 3 hands full of gravel. I feel sorry for the little guy but that’s all I have to put him in until I get my tank set up. I’m thinking about giving him to a friend to put in his 10gal and taking the gravel out and place it on either an old stocking or a section of patio screen and place it over my sand to help out the cycle process. What do you think?

a neighbor was going to flush it because he didn't want it anymore. I didn't want him to flush it. I personally don't want him, but I don't want to kill it. That's why I'm about to give him to a friend.

UGGGHHHHH! that makes me so mad when people say they are just gonna flush a fish cause they dont want it! Wonder why they do that??

Im glad you resued him and have someone to give him too. the bad part is that fish will outgrow that tank in no time. The old gravel from your bowl should help the cylcing process - use the stocking though, the screen may have something on it that could be released into your water.

If its not refrigerated, don't waste your time. I saw an ad for it in TFH but I thought it was another snake oil.

It's a Kent product, so if you know my opinion of other Kent products, you'll know what I think of this stuff.

hint: my opinion is low
