when do male bristlenose plecos get their bristles?

also what size do they breed at?

They will begin to breed at 2.5-3". As long as you have the proper cave for them as well.

Male BN's not sure i've always gotten mine at 2-2.5" and they had bristles.

hey you nicked my name lol, yeah they like malawian said they breed around that size just provide a nice cave with a small entrance and let it be quite big inside and they will spawn also i have been told you can trigger spawning by not doing water changes for 2 weeks then do a 70% water change with chilled water and then do small water changes every 2 days

not sure where you got that 70% change but i wouldnt suggest that much. I bought a terra cove cave from a pottery maker, i dont have a light over the tank which helps. I simply do 20-30% changes wc's with cooler water, i have seen people do 50-60% water changes and kill their pleco's including and sort of fry in there.

some one who breeds bn's on aquachat told me to do that forget the name but i will try and find out
