Default Question about Parrots

At my Petsmart, I saw what they were calling blood parrots. However, instead of being bright red, these parrots were pitch black. Are they dyed? Or is black their natural colors and red is the dye?

Well I think a blood parrot is like a dull greyish red when young and brightens up when full grown I don't think it's pitch black though unless if its dyed which most are but they lose their color at somepoint like all dyed fish I also read that now people are saying that they spawn and produce fertile eggs everyone did say that blood parrots were infertile being that they are a hybrid of a red devil-severum maybe not for sure on what two original fish. I personally like them even though alot of people are against them since they are a man-made hybrid I am against the artificial coloring of fish though it is intresting looking it's kinda inhumane and hurts the fish here's a link with some info on them and a pic of dyed ones http://www.thatfishshop.com/moreinfobloodparrot.html

Juvi blood parrots are dark- gray with bands, usually, but if they are very stressed, they will be very dark. The same thing happens with severums, or you name it, almost any type of cichlid gets dark when stressed. Also, even non- juvi fish will darken or change color or pattern according to their "mood", if you will.

probably dyed, they stick a needle near their spine and inject dye or put them in a dye tank wich removes the slime-coat and the dye leaches into their systems.of course i have a severum thats almost black but he is really happy cause the tank is clean and i feed him 20 pellets a day lol
