Default Neon Tetra Disease

I posted this in the disease forum but didn't get a response. Can anyone here help - I was reading in one of the disease websites to find out what my fish might have. Looks like it may be Neon Tetra Disease. My Long-finned Rosy Barb is losing his color and is swimming around like a madman. Any suggestions? The rest of the fish look fine. Water is 0 Ammon, 0 NitrItes, low NitrAtes. pH is neutral. Thanks.

Neon disease is very rare. I would probably think that your fish has numerous diseases including internal and external bacterial infections, as most fish that are diseased are kept in poor conditions and usually suffer from multiple infections. If your water is good like you said, then you are just unlucky and maybe your barb had the disease before you bought it. Who knows?

If you have a big enough tank with enough hiding places, pH of around 7, you can keep virtually any fish together as long as all the fish are around the same size and these two groups of fish are avioded:
Serrasalmus
Tetradon
(figure eights and dwarfs are the
exception).

I keep a successful community of fish in a 4 foot tank including the following families:
Cichlids, tetras, loaches, gouramis, barbs, rainbows, livebearers, killiefish, catfish, puffers.

Thanks Cichlid. I lost the other 3 Rosy's last week and I bought them the same time from the same place. Should I get rid of him before he infects the whole tank? I don't have quarantine tank. Should I take him back to the lfs?
