Ok, here's the sitch: i am getting a 75g from a friend. my dad wants to build are bookshelves around and above it downstairs. it will be completely built in except for some space above it that will be covered by a sliding panel. i will have maybe a foot of space above it. will this work. i am worried that i will not be able to access the equipment very well. please let me know.

Way too little room. I have a 75 gal built into a wall. I left 18 inches of clearance over the front glass but much more behind that. You need to be able to easily remove filters or reach in and down to work on the bottom rear of the tank.
