Default Fish Deaths Are Depressing

Gah, ich/ick outbreak in the 10 gallon kills half of the fish (stupid heater, we thought it was fixed..got a new one ) And all of a sudden the remaining neons in that tank (been in there for over an year now) are dying off one by one.
however, i think it may be old age...or their immune systems suck now from the sickness last month. the only problem in the tank for them is the ph around 8.0..which they've been in for a year 1/2...blah.

and in the 55 gallon, both my elephant noses died, well...one died from all the stress it had (note 2 self: dont ever buy fish the day they were shipped again, even if their rarely seen in your LFS) and the other is depressingly lying on the fish bottom (after a week of happiness/healthyness) from a head injury...it apparantly rammed into its cave wall during the weekly water change or something because it's skin is torn up and it cant navigate/breath right anymore after being perfectly fine this morning, even more outgoing than usual... This happened to a clown loach too...my tank is some hazardous obstacle course or something.

already checked the water...its the same from my last post...no spikes in anything...ammonia 0/nitrites 0/nitrates which were 30 all good...ph around 7.5....phosphates finally going down. blah.

anyways. i see this as a sign that i shouldnt get anymore fish for this tank, i didnt want anymore in the first place. but see what happens! lol
not happy though. thanks for reading my whining.

actually im betting the other elephant nose caused most of the problems, many electric fish absolutely hate eachother. their electric fields disrupt eachothers in the tank, making it harder to find food and navigate, also to kill eachother.

I am sorry to hear about your fishy problems. Hope things get better. Dead fish is depressing, I should know. I 've killed a bunch in my time.

I am also saddened by a loss, came home tonight from working at Petco to find my crayfish that I've had for almost a year has passed. Not only this but my big goldfish picked him apart. Haha what a horrible way to go. He did just shed a couple of days ago so I don't know if that was related to his death or what.
