Default Sponge filter and eclipse system

Hi I have a 20 gallon with a eclipse combo on it. I was wondering if it would be to much if I also used a sponge filter with it.

Do you mean an air driven sponge filter? If so, no it would not be too much. You can't have too much filtration.
