no clown pleco, go w/ cories. White Clouds are hardier then Neons , which are fragile fish. Rams have a short lifespan of 1 to a max of 2.5 year(though 2.5 is rare) and are also fragile

If you are looking for colors, having ram is a good choice but as what fishboy said, short lifespan. With rams, you may have a pair or have another one peaceful small cichlid like a dwarf cichlid. I would also suggest to loose the tetra.

Some fish that you have mentioned do best in soft water and some are hard water fish. I would pick the group that will do best in whatever your tap water is.

Do you want to stay with fish that do better in hard water? If so, go with tank two, but leave out the cories.

Go the tanginikan option. But no cories as they are softwater. Get some synos instead.

If you have a big enough tank with enough hiding places, pH of around 7, you can keep virtually any fish together as long as all the fish are around the same size and these two groups of fish are avioded:
Serrasalmus
Tetradon
(figure eights and dwarfs are the
exception).

I keep a successful community of fish in a 4 foot tank including the following families:
Cichlids, tetras, loaches, gouramis, barbs, rainbows, livebearers, killiefish, catfish, puffers.

Neolamprolugus Leleupi (lemon cichlid) are known to be teritorial. Max size: 4 inches. They live in hard water, ph of 7.5-8, and temp of 24-28'C. I think you could have 5 leleupi in a 65 gal tank if you want it to be a leleupi-only tank. If you want other tankmates, you could have other Tanganyikan cichlids like the Neolamprolugus brevis (brevis shelldweller), Neolamprolugus caudopunctatus (caudopunk), or Neolamprolugus cylindricus (cylindricus).
