Default Clear water

My 29 gallon tank has been up for a few months now but i have not been able to get rid of the small particals that are suspended in the water. i have an aqua clear 50 on it and it dosn't seem to be clearing theparticals up. The water is clear it is just these particals in he water. I was wondering how to deal with them and make my water crystal clear. Thanks

i have tried accu-clear and it didn't do anything. I read a little while ago that putting a piece of cut up shirt (clean) in the filter to strain the water works any help. Thanks

My emperor would create tiny air bubbles that would look like small particals. I kept the tank as full of water as it was possible w/o water touching the lid. It helped some.

i keep my tank as full as possible because i don't like the noise that thewater makes when it is constantly flowing into the tank from any height. I will try the carbon but it is only a few weeks old. Thanks

I've got a magnum 350. It's got both the regular carbon cartridge that you can put a sleeve around for regular filtration. Then it's also got a seperate cartridge that you can use for "water polishing". I put the sleeve around that and stick it in the filter and it works like crazy. It will clog up fast, but it will make your water crystal clear if it isn't already.

Use poly fiber (smaller micron). I'm guessing your filter also needs to be cleaned (filter pad) but the smaller particles may be slipping through or around it.

Is this a trick that people talk about when they have sand substrate and putting pieces of sponge in the filter tubes?

I have an aqua clear filter on so i just put the piece of t-shirt in between the foam and the carbon and let it run for a few hours and it cleared it up. When i took the t-shirt out it was really brown and now the water is really clear. It worked for me so i don't see why it wouldn't work on other set ups. I used a piece of the front of a shrit that i really didn't wear and i washed it out pretty throughly and then cut it so that it was over all of the sides of the foam except the bottom and slid it in. Hope it helps
Jeremy
