latest trend, IMO, is natural aquascaping make your takn look real. Also you can get alot of small fish like tetras, white clouds, danios, livebearers, or rasboras and a large centerpeice fish like a gourami. Cichlids are really popular but they aren't for your tank. Also a bristle nosed pleco are cool fish, I like the albino kind

Its your choice. Best thing to do is go to the pet shop write down the names of some fish you like and come back here and we will tell you what you cannoy keep with them. It would give us a base to go off of, there are sooo many different routes to go it is hard to just throw something out there.
Do you want community, semi aggressive, aggressive, breeding? Also what kind of water do you have? Soft, Hard? Ph levels?

I agree what lexus said. It would be easier if you check you lfs on what fish you like and is available then post it here so we could check which one goes with the other. That would be a good start!

Only one larger fish or many smaller ones? Are you willing to feed frozen food(like blood worms) or live food(like a feeder a month or so as a treat)? Do you have a certian perference to a type of fish? ie. Cichlids, puffers, tetras, rasboras, natives Only FW or will you take on Brackish? Have you ever had another aquarium? What would you say your experience level is(advanced, moderate, ok, nOOb or somewhere between those levels)? What do you perfer, color, inteligence, aggresiveness? Answer the questions and I'll throw a few suggest your way. I wouldn't suggest discus, very fragile and you should have a school and a school of discus wouldn't fit in your tank.
