Default Swordtail Pair acting weird.

I noticed an oily film on the surface of one of my tanks and tried my mest to remove it straight away. Then I did a 30% water change. Now my swordtail pair keep 'swallowing' air from the surface in HUGE gulps, like a gourami does but in even bigger gulps. Whats wrong?

Thanks

bad water, not much O2, these are just some causes

I would be wanting to know what caused the oily slick on top of your water to start with and make sure you have that problem fixed. It does sound like and oxygen problem with the gulping for air. I have found swordtails to be a very hardy fish and near impossible to kill and they are a very easy breeding fish.
