Hi everyone
I have a 150gal fish only tank. Current population consists of 6 damsels,1 racoon butterfly,a neon cleaner goby, pencil urchins, and two cleaner shrimp. I have only dead coral pieces for decoration and crushed coral as a substrate. My concern is that I have white "pods" growing all over my coral. Can anyone help me to identify them ? Should I try to eliminate them ? See attachments Thanks Ken http://www.fishforums.com/forum/atta...1&d=1165025933 |

They're just a type of small sponge. Harmless, filter water, but they overrun everything. I had a few come in on some chaeto..they're all over my 30 gallon now. I have a pic somewhere...

Thanks for the information guys. I suppose it's possible I got some LFS water mixed in somehow. It's good to know they won't do any harm.

Haha, im talking about the white spot. Looks exactly like not just any pod, but a really mature copepod. It has the oval shaped body with the "crown-like" lower body where the reproductive organs are located, but it looks like its tail isnt visable....... or it could just be a spongue
