Default Any Ideas?

Last night while checking on my yellow shrimp, I noticed about 4 of these:

I have absolutely no idea what they are. I've had no fish or otherwise in this tank, just my shrimp and the invading population of snails. I have java moss, which I got from two places: my lfs and the breeder of my yellow shrimp. The moss from the breeder is also in two other tanks, and no sign of these guys.

At the lfs, I *think* there were madagascar rainbows, possibly others, in the tank the moss came from. Who knows what else was there before.

I also collected shale/rocks from the creek where I live. Seems a bit cold for anything to have survived though, and I did wash the stones thoroughly. And since fish don't grow on trees, I'm not worried about them coming from the leaves in my tank.

As you can see from the picture, they're basically traingles with heads . They seem to have 3 blue/black stripes running horizontally at the top, middle, and near the bottom of their body.

I have to admit that I haven't looked into what these could be too much, but I just thought I'd go ahead and ask here. Thanks

Identifying a species of fish from a picture of a larva is pretty darned tricky. I can only suggest raising them and seeing what you get. That could be fun. heck, you might even make a game or contest out of it.

Well I suppose my guess is as good as any so I'll go out on a limb here....
Could it be a minnow fry? Maybe a fathead?

Since the rocks came from a creek, it's a good possibility.

Heh, yeah, I'll raise them as best as I can . They are cute. All four of them are still alive as of today and basically look the same. They're about a quarter of an inch, so we'll see when/if they make it.

I'm actually worried about them eating any baby shrimp from the tank. Might be a bit before that happens, but I may have to end up moving them soon.

Thanks

Update pics so often and we can all attempt to guess as it slowly becomes more identifiable!
