Red mickey Platy

Ok I just looked in on my female platy she looks a little bigger, but I don't know if she is pregnant. One of two of my males got flushed, really sick. I know which one is my female cause her belly is a llighter orange, but she does look a tad bigger. How can I tell when she won't stay still?

well when my platies are pregnant I can usually tell because she has a larger belly. Dont always look for a gravid spot because some variations don't show them. Also if you do have a male the chances are she is probably hit. good luck i love mickey mouse platys.

"one of the males got flushed" if you flushed it down the toilet was it alive or dead?

i hope it was dead. live fishes will continue to live in the sewer until they suffocate with crud in there gills. it's a horrible way to die

It died just as I got to the tank, figured it had gotten a worm of sorts, paper thin. Fished it out before the worm could make it's way out. And then flushed the dead fish down the tiolet.

oh, ummm, wow that's grose. well atleaste the plattie was dead before you flushed it.
