Hi All,

I am very new to having an aquarium and fish keeping. Have purchased a 240 litre tank recently having inherited my son's 60 litre one last year which then got me hooked to the fishes!!!
My new aquarium has cycled and the water test is fine. Have got about 17 fishes including gourami's, loaches, a common pleco and a siamese algae eater. What do I feed the pleco and algae eater? Are the algae wafers sufficient and how often? Have put some lettuce, zucchini and cucumber but do not know if they are having a nibble at them.
Am changing the water twice weekly.
Would love to get all the help and advice with the new tank specially being a newbie.
Thanks & cheers.......

to fish forums you've come to the right place! Are you putting the food in at night?

Hi,

Thanks for your reply. I put some algae wafers at night and some during the day. I think the siamese algae eater is not nocturnal; the pleco I believe is. Does this mean the pleco can only see when it is dark or can the pleco see when the aquarium lights are not turned on?
Cheers.....

The pleco can see during the day and with the lights on, he just sleeps all day and wakes up at night. Do you have all these fish in the 60 liter or the 240 liter?

Oh btw to the forums!

Thanks for all your replies. Hope to stick around. The pleco is in the 240 litre tank. Plan to clean out the 60 litre one and get a few goldfish......this is addictive stuff!!!!
