Another new person!

Well, not new to fish entirely, but pretty much new to the idea of keeping a tank bigger than 2.5 gallons! My family just moved to SC from NoNJ where my neighbor had a 200 gallon saltwater tank which was BEAUTIFUL. I had a small 2.5 gallon freshwater tank that we got for my daughter about 18 months ago in which we kept a single male beta (well, three of them during those 18 months because the first two were more like practice runs as I figured out what I needed to do without killing them). Mr. Fish III had a good run and was still alive and kicking when I gave him up upon our long-distance move in July. Fortunately the new caretaker for Mr. Fish III says he's doing well in his new home.

As for me, I now hope to get a 30 gallon freshwater tank. I have visited a lot of fish forums over the past couple of weeks and have decided this one is the most fun, most knowledgeable and most open to newbies!

I've been looking at a variety of 30 gal kits to help me get started. Fortunately there is a GREAT fish store about 10 miles from my house (Fintastic, in Charlotte, NC) where I plan on getting my fish once the tank is ready.
