Hi everyone, my name is Mandy and I'm glad to be part of this community. I'm very new to fish keeping as I don't even *own* my first fish tank. The company that I work for got a 46 gallon tank to put in my office and now I get to decide which fish to keep in it.

I guess that's it for now, I'll be posting some questions in the appropriate forums. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

- Mandy

welcome to the forums! first thing you have to do is cycle, but i will leave that to someone more experienced in that department. then you have to decide what fish you want, always research before buying! do you want peaceful or aggressive fish?

Hi thanks for the welcome!

I don't know much about 'cycling' a fish tank, but I do work with someone who does know quite a bit about that. He's the one that helped us set up the tank today. We put the rocks, plants, and other accessories in the tank this afternoon. We're going to let it sit until next Monday (4/11) before we add any fish. During this period I'm sure he'll do what need's to be done to it.

I am in the process of researching right now (that's why I joined) , so no worries about me rushing into things. I always research before I buy pets.

As far as what type of community I want, I have no question that I want a peaceful community. I'm not to keen on the fish fighting/eating fish thing, but that's just me.

Thanks again,
- Mandy

Thanks for stopping by and its nice to see someone so intrested in fish that they would go searching for help for a tank that they do not own.

Please stick around and maybe you will have one of your own shortly.
