I agree with Clerk and GoodMike. A Japanese food place near me has 3 silver arowanas and an oscar in a 75g, and it's CLEARLY not big enough for even one of the aros. Seriously look into at least 300 gallons. Forget the 55, it'll be too small too soon, and just buy the 300, so you don't need to rebuy. If you can't house the arowana properly, give it to a store or someone with a huge tank to hang on to until you can get it a properly sized tank.

I have seen Aro's at the NJ aquarium in a 2000+ aquarium and it still looked to have inadequate room. it was probably a good foot and a half long and pretty round..I would love some of these, but I can't house them anywhere, unless I turn my pool into a pond or something

Welcome david! I too love aro's, one of my favorite fish. FF is a great forum but I would hardly say we have the most arowana experts. I dont think im allowed to refer people to other sites so I will send you a PM. But i hope you do stay here, we can always use another big fish guy. It seems sometimes that me and gump are the only ones

Eh, I wouldnt say that. My 100g only cost as much as a 30g reef would. ANd my 72g was 200$ TOTAL, including all the fixings.
