Default New

Hi all. I accidentally posted "i'm new" in general discussion, wanted to make it formal.

I'm a former aquarist and I've recently gotten another tank.

My most prize fish was a Tiger Shovelnose Cat, but it jumped tank at 18 inches and dried up. (with a brick on the hood no less) I've had lots of variations of cichlids and catfish, a Shovelnose Whiptail Sturgeon at one point, which all started with a 10 gallon community tank.

This time around, I'm aiming to keep freshwater stingrays, teacups or motoros, in a 125. Later down the road I'm hoping to get a blueish arowana (jardini) but the stingrays are a priority. Looking to get a couple of females before adding a male.

Charlie

Welcome,
Sounds like you like the "tankbusters" Just be sure you always have a tank ready with their adult size in mind. If you do that starting them in a 10 gal is no problem.

Its always hard to lose a fish to somthing like having them jump out of the tank. Now you know the power of a fish. Next time try a cinder block or somehow clip the hood down.

Thanks for all the welcomes.

I thought about a cinder block after the jump while I was contemplating gettting another tiger shovel, but that seemed like a disaster waiting. I did get these metal "C" clips used to hold down screen hoods on reptile tanks, but I ended up not getting another tiger.
