Hi everybody. New to the site and hobby. I got a 55 gallon tank about a month ago, set it up for freshwater and seeded the tank w filter media from my lfs. I used tetra safe start to help w the cycle and tested the water daily. My tanked cycled quickly, turning 3.0ppm ammonia into nitrates overnight. When ammonia and nitrites stayed at 0 and nitrates were at 20 ppm I did a 25% water changed and added 6 red eye tetras and 6 serpae tetras. A couple days later I added a baby albino channel cat to keep the bottom clean. (I am in the process of building a pond outside which will eventually house him when he gets to be about 9".) finally I added 4 bala sharks and a blood parrot. I know the sharks are gonna outgrow my tank (hopefully by than I'll have a 200 gallon). I have a penguin 350 hob filter. My ammonia readings have stayed at 0. Do u think I am puttin too big of load on my filter?
