You really should add more barbs as they do best in schools of 5 or more. You can also mix them up so if you don't want more tigars you can get green barbs. Also I'd add a few more Bala sharks as they also do best in groups of 5 or more.
Back to the tank, it looks nice with the sand. Its a lot easier to clean and looks 10x better. I'm more of a fan of natural tanks instead of the fake plants and such. But it looks nice. Glad to have you here, we look forward to having you stick around. If you have questions don't be scared to ask here!

Jeez I feel obligated to comment, or the poster of Marcus is going to punch me in the face!
The tank looks nice bud. Thats alot of flow! Heres an idea to cut down on all that equipement and energy. How about just getting a monster canister filter? An Ehime 2217 would be plenty. Not to mention the only thing inside the tank would a heater and canister filter lines.

Nice looking tank. I have my first 55 gallon set up, getting fish later this week. Leaning to a community tank, but after seeing all the other wonderful specimens may be swayed to something more challenging.

good luck with the dinosaur bichier they are aggressive as heck once they get big they are fast jumpers and territorial.

they are picivourious so watch him closely especially with the smaller fish in there and if you lose him start looking around on the floor because they are known for jumping out of tanks and "walking" around. They can survive several minutes out of water. i think he ate your killie tho.
