hola
All I should point out is that my name is a reference to the show "Family Guy". In reality, I rarely have sex with fish. I have a slightly overcrowded ten gallon tank, but all my fish are happy and get along and are very active. I also don't trust the people at the pet store. They tell me alot of useless crap that would waste alot of money. My favorite fish (that I own) is the Tiger Oscar. The pineapple swordtails are cool too. I used to have male bettas, but they would kill each other so I gave them away (I feed their left-over food to my fiddler crab).

Welcome, and Im glad its only a name. Most stores are in it to make a sale. The more helpful stores are usually the mom and pop stores not the chain stores.
There is a problem I see with your tank. Your tiger oscar will outgrow your 10 gallon soon. And the rest of the fish in there will become dinner for him.
I also would not replace the pleco. He to is to large a fish for a 10 gallon.
Stick around and dont be afraid to ask questions. When you ask a question be ready for answers even if they are not what you want to hear or sometime not to sugar coated. LOL

I know about the Tiger Oscar, I'll probably sell him to a friend. My pleco was only 2.5 inches, do they grow quickly?

If it was a common pleco. They can grow to a foot in length in a year and a half if provided with good water conditions and enough good food.

Actually, by "friend" I meant "trash can", and by "sell him to" I meant "throw him in".

okay you got a lot of fish in a too small of a tank. I would suggest on buying anouther tank or buying a bigger tank and putting all the fish in the new, big tank.
So you gave away the Pleco, right?
The tiger oscar, can go into a 30 gal.tank buy it self and could've gone with the pleco and the rest of the fish can stay where they are.
The problem with your tank is that you have a little to many swordfish in the tank. THe male will grow a lond sword.
Trust me I know what I'm talking about. I had 6 swordfish in a 10 gal. tank with 1 male betta, 5 platies and 2 catfish. Yeah they died because of overcrowding and fish waste.
If you really want to you could go buy another tank, if you wanted, too. To put the tiger oscar in.
The rest of the fish are right now fine in the 10 gal. tank until the swords grow a little bit and take some more room up.
[I][U]tanks below
30 gal.
1 green servum (adult)
1 red parrott fish (adult)
1 striped raphael (young, still growing, slowly)
Use to have pleco in 30, but died.
10 gal. tank
1 male honey gourami
4 dalmation mollies
10 gal. tank
2 platies
rest platies died
