First Thread
Greetings!
I'm new here, hence this thread. I've had experience in the past with aquariums, but I am no expert.
This past Spring I got the 'fish itch' after not having an aquarium since 1999. I bought a couple of Comets, 2 Corydoras and set up a 10 gallon for pleasure.
One of the Comets has since tripled in size, and will be heading outside in the Spring when we finish up the pond. Until then, my set up is a 20 gallon tall with the two Comets and live plants, to which I have added two mystery snails, one male Betta, and one Gourami. The pair of Corydoras continue to help keep the tank clean. The Betta displays occasionally at the Gourami, but they get along fine.
Problems? None at this time, but I felt it would be fun to chat with others who enjoy this hobby.
Glad to meetcha, see you around!

Welcome to the forums, I'm brand new myself, but welcome none the less.
I had the itch too, dug out an old 20 tall, wasn't happy, went to a 40 long, wasn't happy, went to a 75, was happy for a little while, now just bought a 125 gallon. Does it ever end? lol

welcome to the forum. You have to remember goldfish like cool water in the 72 degree range, while corys and the betta like it warm 78-82 degrees.

.
Actually, I've read different opinions on the Corys, from a couple of aquarium guides I've had for years.
At this time, the temp. is a constant 70-72, and everyone seems to be happy.
The Corys have been doing well since last March, and even the Betta appears to be doing okay. I know he'd probably like it a little warmer, but once the goldfish go outside, I'll bump it up a few degrees.
