New to the Forums
Hello everyone!
I am new to the forums, but not new to the hobby. I've been keeping fish for about seven years now--wow, I hadn't realized it has been that long, I'm feeling a bit old.
I finally decided to go ahead and make accounts on all of my favorite fish forums (I've been lurking around for quite some time now) because I am considering taking my hobby to the next level: breeding. I have been doing a lot of research about breeding Bettas. Now, after three years of planning I am finally getting into the fun part, which is the actual purchasing of breeding stock. Not so fun for my wallet...
Hopefully by the spring I will have a breeding pair of "Koi" (red, orange, black and white marble) Halfmoon Plakats. As the breeding operation expands I would like to get into blue, yellow, black and white "Koi" Halfmoon Plakats, and Mustard Gas Halfmoons, maybe some Red Devil Halfmoons as well, but I'm getting ahead of myself! One thing at a time!
So here is a link to my website (I just set it up today): NB Betta
Cheers,
Zara.

Thank you for all of the welcomes
Weedkiller- I've been planning on breeding Bettas for three years now. It wasn't some random thought because I bought a pretty one at the pet store that I wanted to have babies, like some people. I've seen forums where new Betta breeders are asked a million and one questions on if they are prepared by concerned, experienced breeders. A lot of the time, these questions are necessary, some people just aren't cut out for breeding Bettas. I'm surprised I haven't received any of these messages or comments. I had two questions for the Betta breeding community, which Chard answered for me and from what I can tell Chard is a very reliable source of information. If any other breeders have any nuggets of information that they care to share I'm all ears!

How'd you know I was gonna post next? Anyways, welcome to the forum! Good luck on your betta breeding. It took my 14 tries to finally get eggs and I am still trying to get adults. Should be spawning my imbellis soon. Kinda left splendens behind though as they are not nearly as cool as imbellis, mahachaiensis, smaragdina, and stiktos. What type of fry foods do you have ready?
