Default New to world of ponds ....

Hi all,

I moved house recently and in doing so inherited a 10,000 litre outdoor pond, fish and ... well the usual stuff.

Since moving in I have really taken to this fish keeping thing and the good lady and I are on a master plan of making the pond seem less rigid. Currently it is a veryu rigid rectangular shape with a natural rock waterfall and far too much pond liner showing through for our liking - but we have plans for that and I shall discuss these elsewhere on this forum.

Anyway, please be gentle with me a I never saw myself as a fish keeper and have never done so in the past but am really enjoying it even though I've had to shell out a lot of money on it recently. I am very liable to ask either basic or stupid questions and not know the terminology so......

Anyway - hi.

Hello and welcome to the FishForums! You can always discuss in the pond section (along with goldfish and koi) to either get help or help out!

People here are very nice! It shouldn't take you long to know about all the terms and stuff. It's a great thing to research before embarking into anything!

Enjoy your stay!

Welcome.
No question is stupid if you dont know about the subject your asking about. More experienced people will look at some questions as basic but that wont matter because everyone started somewhere and here asking questions is one of the best places for it.
I only properly started this hobby about 6 months ago before that Im ashamed to say that my fish were probably not the happiest and I wasnt either because it was getting to be a chore but once you get told or find out the proper way to keep fish it becomes very enjoyable and no hassle at all.

The key is patience and knowledge. Dont do anything unless you know the results, so use everyones friend, google, or ask questions.

Welcome, And plenty of us here have ponds. So dont be afraid to ask questions or use the wrong words. If we can figure out what you are asking we will answer. If we dont have a clue we will as for more info.
