Hi, I'm tsel. I have three veiltail bettas in bowls, two males and a female. I keep taking bettas from folks that don't want them anymore.
Yeah, so that's me. (And yes, I am eventually getting larger homes for the little guys.)

Hello, friends! My name is Ed and I've joined the forum just couple of days ago. Actually I'm in the fish hobby about 15 years. Ocasionally I breed angels, kribs, burbs, etc. In April 2005 I bought some koi angels and albino bristlenoses (ancistrus) from Angels Plus. Everithing was fine for a while until the bn start to die. One after another in diferent tanks. I've got 2-3 in 7 tanks with angels for algae control. Water is fine, aged water with no ammonia, no nitrate, 82-84F everywhere, PH 6.8-7.2 always, constant partial water changes. I tried to find something but no visual symptoms accept they getting more pale and almost motionless before they die.To make already long story shorter. Any ideas? It is not starvation either. And also if anybody can share the knowlege about bn and salt. I've heard different opinions.Thanks.

I sure wish I could find an answer to your question. My betta did the same before he died. I am pretty sure it is a disease, but it doesn't fit the cardboard-cut-out version that many of the disease sites have. I hope someone can help you (and me) on figuring that out.

Welcome tsel, Hope you stick around!
Props on rescuing the bettas. elixir: welcome too, FYI; start a new thread and introduce yourself formally then state your questions again, you'll get more responses to your dilemma, and good luck. C |
