Default Hello

Hello everyone,

I see lots has changed since the last time I was here. I see a few familiar names still here though, but I noticed Mark isn't running this joint anymore. Hello to the new admin, I believe it was Shaggy? I don't know how these language filters work, but if it's possible for you to make an exception on the word "d1ck" in my user name, so that i don't have to be Mobydock, it'd be real swell.

Anyways, I currently have a half full(or half empty?) 75G, with various plants and 1 Betta, an empty 20G long and an empty 5G(probably future home of the betta). I have kept a few cichlids, corys, tetras, guppies and I was breeding bettas untill I moved away for work for a little while. I'm moving home sometime this fall and I'd like to get my 75G up and running again and maybe my 20G(I'm sure that'll turn into a yes once I get back into it), but I'll post more on that in the general section.

I got bored of all the same Q's and A's and pointless arguments on the forums, so I quit for a while. Plus I haven't really even been keeping fish for the past 4-5 months(*twitches*). My Ma has been feeding my one betta, which I really only held onto for fertilizing my plants and keeping and the tank cycled. So, I need to buff-up on my now rusty fish keeping knowledge.

EDIT: PS, the new site is snazzy

Good attitude Fish Doc, you know everyone doesn't read the archive.
And oh yeah, Welcome back mobyd1ck.

If you have a big enough tank with enough hiding places, pH of around 7, you can keep virtually any fish together as long as all the fish are around the same size and these two groups of fish are avioded:
Serrasalmus
Tetradon
(figure eights and dwarfs are the
exception).

I keep a successful community of fish in a 4 foot tank including the following families:
Cichlids, tetras, loaches, gouramis, barbs, rainbows, livebearers, killiefish, catfish, puffers.
